David Pastrnak had three points in the first period as the Boston Bruins scored four times in this period en route to a 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
Over two periods, the Bruins scored five times in a span of 5:29. It’s the eighth-fastest time in franchise history that the Bruins have scored five goals. The franchise record dates back to December 19, 1974 against the New York Rangers when the Bruins scored five goals in 2:55.
Pastrnak hit the target twice – his 32nd and 33rd goals – in addition to collecting an assist. He became the ninth player in Bruins history to have 60 career three-point games.
Pastrnak now has 71 points, 33 goals and 38 assists, and he becomes the fifth player to reach the plateau of 70 points in less than 50 games. Pastrnak achieves it for the second time in his career. Phil Esposito and Bobby Orr have done it six times each.
James van Riemsdyk, Danton Heinen, Charlie McAvoy and Charlie Coyle were the others in victory.
Pavel Zacha collected two assists.
Linus Ullmark blocked 35 shots. For the Flyers, Samuel Ersson allowed four goals on 14 shots, then Cal Petersen took over starting in the second period. He made 12 saves.
Tyson Foerster scored both goals for the Flyers, who suffered a fifth defeat in a row.
Before the game, the Flyers honored Mark Recchi, the newest member of their Hall of Fame.
Recchi played a total of 602 games with Philadelphia, scoring 232 goals and 627 points.
In 1992-93, he had 53 goals and 123 points with the Flyers – the team’s record for points in a regular season.
Ovechkin ends his drought
Defenseman Thomas Harley scored the game-winning goal in overtime and the Dallas Stars defeated the Washington Capitals 5-4i.
It was the second goal of the game for Harley, who scored in overtime in a second straight game.
The Stars led 4-2, but in the final two minutes of the third period, Alexander Ovechkin scored on a six-on-four and Dylan Strome scored on a six-on-five.

Anthony Mantha and Rasmus Sandin also scored for the Capitals. Goaltender Charlie Lindgren stopped 30 pucks.
Duchene made it 4-2. The forward was honored before the game, having played his 1,000th career NHL game earlier in early December.

Ovechkin and Mantha also had an assist, while Evgeny Kuznetsov had two.
Marchment and Duchene also added an assist in addition to their net. Tyler Seguin and Miro Heiskanen each finished the game with two assists.

With his double, Peterka surpassed Jeff Skinner as the club’s top scorer. He has 18 goals this season.

Kaapo Kahkonen blocked 31 pucks. He is still looking for his first victory against the Sabres, showing an 0-4 record.
Sabers forward Jack Quinn left the game in the third period after his left leg took a hit with the boards. He had to be escorted off the ice and did not return to the game afterward.
