Red Wings: David Perron gets his 700th NHL career point

Quebecer David Perron reached another important milestone in the NHL on Thursday, when his assist on Robby Fabbri’s goal represented his 700th career point.

During the duel against the Calgary Flames, the Detroit Red Wings winger passed the puck to captain Dylan Larkin, who spotted Fabrri for a one-timer.

Earlier this season, in December, he played his 1,000th game on the Bettman circuit.

Perron, who is 34 years old, joins this select group at his 1027th meeting. He is the 258th player in league history to make it.

Detroit is Perron’s sixth team, 26th overall pick in the 2007 draft, after three stints with the St. Louis Blues, as well as stops in Edmonton, Pittsburgh, Anaheim and Vegas.

On July 13, Perron accepted a two-year offer from the Wings, worth $4.75 million a year.

The Wings, who are in the midst of a trip down Canada’s west coast, have now won five straight to get back into the playoffs with a 26-20-8 record.

Dominik Kubalik netted a brace, while Tyler Bertuzzi – author of a three-point performance – and Pius Suter also scored at the expense of Dan Vladar, who faced 24 shots.

Magnus Hellberg, acquired from the Ottawa Senators, stopped 33 pucks for his fourth victory of the year. Elias Lindholm and Dillon Dube managed to outsmart him.
