Oilers: Connor McDavid scores 4th goal in as many preparatory games

Connor McDavid scored his fourth goal in preseason games on Friday in a 3-1 victory for the Edmonton Oilers against the Seattle Kraken.

McDavid slipped behind a Kraken defender after a zone entry and deposited Evan Bouchard’s beautiful pass behind a helpless Philipp Grubauer to tie the game 1-1 late in the first period.

Author of a remarkable 153-point season last year, McDavid has seven points in four games in the preparatory calendar.

Bouchard also set up Evander Kane’s goal, who had an assist on McDavid’s goal. Zach Hyman was the other Oilers scorer on a power play pass from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.

Jack Campbell made 35 saves in front of the Oilers net while Grubauer stopped 22 shots for the Kraken.

Jared McCann scored Seattle’s only goal.

Soucy injured in Canucks victory

In another game presented late in the evening in Western Canada, the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Calgary Flames by a score of 3-1.

Tyler Myers, Teddy Blueger and Phillip Di Giuseppe scored for the Canucks and Nazem Kadri responded for the Flames.

Canucks defenseman Carson Soucy left the game in the second period after his left knee buckled worryingly during a battle for the puck with Yegor Sharangovich.
