SUNRISE, Fla.- The Toronto Maple Leafs and Scotiabank Arena will host National Hockey League All-Star Weekend activities in 2024.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman made the announcement minutes before the All-Star Game kicked off on Saturday in Sunrise, Florida.
The festivities will consist of the traditional skills competition on February 2, 2024, as well as the All-Star Game the following day.
This will be the ninth time the All-Star Game will be played in Toronto, the first since 2000.
The annual classic originated in the Queen City in 1934 to support Leafs forward Ace Bailey, who suffered an injury that forced him into retirement during the 1933-34 season. Thirteen years later, Toronto hosted the first official NHL All-Star Game.
At the time, the Stanley Cup winner was facing an all-star team from the other five clubs in the league.
