NHL: David Perron’s 6-game suspension appealed (Red Wings)

The six-game suspension imposed Monday on Detroit Red Wings forward David Perron has been appealed by the NHL Players’ Association.

The Security Department announced an exemplary sanction against Perron, who had never been suspended in nearly 1,100 matches in the Bettman circuit.

Last Saturday, in a match against the Ottawa Senators, the Quebecer scored a double-check behind the head of defender Artem Zub.

The native of Sherbrooke wanted to avenge a blow suffered by his captain Dylan Larkin, who lost consciousness for a few moments after a double collision with Mathieu Joseph and Parker Kelly, in front of the Sens net.

In addition to being sidelined until December 22, Perron will also be forced to pay nearly $150,000 if the independent arbitrator does not rule in his favor.

The one who recently reached the 300-goal mark has already missed the matches on Monday and Tuesday, against Dallas and St. Louis.
