NHL: Cale Makar completes Avalanche comeback against Oilers

EDMONTON — Cale Makar scored in overtime and the Colorado Avalanche came from behind to beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 on Saturday night.

Nathan MacKinnon and Brad Hunt also hit the target for the Avalanche, who snapped a five-game losing streak.

Zach Hyman scored both goals for the Oilers, who have lost six of their last seven home outings.

Alexandar Georgiev made 28 saves for the Avalanche while Stuart Skinner blocked 43 of 46 shots he faced for the Oilers.

The visitors trailed 2-0 when MacKinnon fired a spectacular goal and Hunt eluded Skinner. In overtime, Makar put an end to the debate by firing a precise wrist shot into the top corner.
