NHL: Anthony Mantha finds his bearings & Zachary Fucale sees action at the Capitals

Anthony Mantha scored, and Zachary Fucale saw action, in the Washington Capitals’ 4-3 overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabers in a preseason game on Sunday.

Mantha opened the scoring with a powerful one-timer on a power play in the first period. The Quebecer finished last season with nine goals and 14 assists in 37 games for the Caps.

For his part, Fucale shared the work in front of the Caps goal with Hunter Shepard. He stopped 15 pucks, but gave up on two occasions. Shepard made nine saves.

Dylan Cozens, Tyson Kozak, Jack Quinn and Vinnie Hinostroza found the back of the net for Buffalo in the win.

A first in Calgary for Huberdeau

In his first preseason game in his new uniform, Calagary Flames forward Jonathan Huberdeau scored his first goal.

The Quebecer took advantage of a power play to score the first goal of the game.

Playing alongside former Canadian Tyler Toffoli and Elias Lindholm, Flames fans have the chance to see what could very well be the team’s first line to start the season.

Tristan Luneau makes his presence felt

Quebec’s Tristan Luneau stood out in a 3-2 win for the Anaheim Ducks over the Arizona Coyotes.

The defender hit the target in the first period to make it 2-1 for the Ducks. Luneau then became an accomplice on the net of Isac Lundestrom during a power play in the middle period.

Luneau was selected in the second round by the Ducks in the last draft. He finished the game with five shots on the opposing net.
