Calgary Flames forward Martin Pospisil was suspended three games for his check on Vince Dunn on Monday against the Seattle Kraken.

The NHL Security Department made the announcement Wednesday evening.

Pospisil was ejected from the game in the third period after firmly tackling the Seattle defender from behind.

In his first season in the NHL, Pospisil collected 15 points in 45 games.

Contract extension for Seeler

The Philadelphia Flyers placed defenseman Nick Seeler on injured reserve with a lower-body injury and recalled defenseman Adam Ginning from the AHL.

Philadelphia and Seeler, however, agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension worth $10.7 million.

The 30-year-old defenseman has one goal and 11 assists in 63 games this season.

Seeler is currently in the final year of a two-year contract that pays him an annual average of $775,000.

For his part, Ginning has two goals and 13 points in 52 games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms this season. He played in the only NHL game of his career last season.

Bordeleau recalled by the Sharks

San Jose also placed Ty Emberson’s name on the injured list.

At 22, Bordeleau scored 11 goals and 25 assists in 35 games with the Barracuda. In six games with the Sharks, he recorded a goal and an assist.

Podkolzin in the AHL

The Vancouver Canucks have sent forward Vasily Podkolzin to their namesake farm club in Abbotsford in the AHL.

The 22-year-old Russian has not scored a point for Vancouver in two games this season.

He scored 15 goals and 22 points in 44 games with Abbotsford.

Senators recall Highmore

Following the trade sending Vladimir Tarasenko to the Florida Panthers, the Ottawa Senators have recalled forward Matthew Highmore.

Aged 28, Himore has 29 points in 40 games this season with the Belleville Senators in the American League.

The former Saint John Sea Dogs in the QMJHL played six games with the Sens this season, where he recorded one assist.
