From across the NHL: news from Brenden Dillon, Louis Crevier and Tyler Johnson

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Brenden Dillon has been suspended three games by the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety for his actions against Pittsburgh Penguins forward Noel Acciari.

Since it was a telephone hearing, Dillon could not receive a suspension of more than five games.

Dillon received a game misconduct after illegally hitting Acciari in the head just four minutes into the second period of Tuesday night’s game between the Jets and Penguins.

Dillon has 6 goals and 9 assists in 47 games since the start of the season, his 3rd with the Jets.

Crevier recalled, Johnson activated

The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled Quebec defenseman Louis Crevier from the Rockford IceHogs.

Crevier played 15 games this season with the Hawks, recording three assists.

Chicago also announced that Tyler Johnson’s name has been removed from the injured list. Johnson will return to action Wednesday night against the Minnesota Wild. The 33-year-old center has been sidelined since December 31 due to a foot injury.

Pospisil remains with the Flames

The audition that forward Martin Pospisil landed with the Calgary Flames seems to have been fruitful.

The Alberta team announced Wednesday that it had extended the 24-year-old Slovak winger’s contract for two seasons, at an annual salary of $1 million.

Pospisil made his NHL debut on November 4, against the Seattle Kraken. He also scored a goal in his very first match.

For his entire rookie season, Pospisil totaled 11 points (4-7) in 34 games.

He was a fourth-round pick (105th overall) by the Flames in the 2018 draft.
