Canadiens defenseman Ben Chiarot will likely be traded within the next seven to ten days, our contributor Pierre LeBrun says in a segment ofInsider Trading.
Chiarot’s name is the subject of several rumors, given that he will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the current season.
Chiarot could also have accompanied Tyler Toffoli to Calgary, but the Flames ultimately deemed that the price to pay was far too high.
Our sister station informant TSN Darren Dreger, however, clarified that the Flames could return to the charge and try to acquire Chiarot.
The Florida Panthers, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers and Saint Louis Blues would also be among the teams interested in his services, adds LeBrun.
Everything indicates that the CH will demand a first-round pick and possibly a player in return from Chiarot.
In addition, the names of three players of the Buffalo Sabers feed the discussions: Robert Hagg, Colin Miller and Cody Eakin.
