Vikings: new record contract for Christian Darrisaw

Minnesota Vikings lock up Christian Darrisaw long-term. Left tackle breaks the bank.

Christian Darrisaw signed a four-year contract extension. The left tackle will make $113 million, with $77 million fully guaranteed. He surpasses Penei Sewell and all other tackles in annual salary at $28.25 million per year.

The Vikings are not new to this offseason. After Justin Jefferson and his record contract, another very important element of the attack is locked up at a high price, until 2029.

Christian Darrisaw, discreet but essential

Drafted in 2021 at 23e position, Darrisaw immediately showed his accuracy in the game. He earned a starting position in his rookie year, which he has not left since. In 2023, he even played a total of 982 snaps to protect the blind side of his quarterbacks.

His name is not often mentioned among the best at his position. However, the Vikings made the decision and made him their cornerstone on the offensive line for years to come. They even had enough confidence to give him a salary increase surpassing the rest of the offensive linemen, “only” after 3 years of his rookie contract.

This offseason, Minnesota bet on JJ McCarthy (QB). The franchise is doing what it takes to surround him as best it can and allow him to succeed.
