It's definitely been a productive summer for the Miami Dolphins. After quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's extension, it's now Tyreek Hill who has reached a contractual agreement with the franchise, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The unique thing about this deal is that Tyreek Hill is not extending his contract, but renegotiating his existing one. So he's still under contract through 2026, but with a lot more money guaranteed. The new deal gives him $65 million guaranteed, for a total of $106.5 million over the entire contract.
With the huge extensions of star receivers like Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill had expressed his desire for a new contract that reflected his status as the league's No. 1 player according to the NFL's top 100. The new contract structure looks like a compromise that can satisfy both the player and the franchise.
Author of 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns last season, he will more than ever be the key element of the vertical attack of the Florida franchise.
