The Seahawks strengthen their defensive line by reaching an agreement with the Giants.
According to NFL Network, the Seahawks have reached an agreement with the Giants to trade Leonard Williams. In exchange for the defensive lineman, New York recovers two picks from the 2024 second round and the 2025 fifth round of the draft.
Now at the top of its division, Seattle has decided to put as many chances as possible on its side by strengthening its defensive line. From the Giants’ point of view, they are recovering interesting compensation for a player at the end of his contract and who was earning a significant salary.
Williams is 29 years old, and a former first-round pick of the Jets. Traded to Big Blue, he was tagged in 2019 and 2020 before signing a 3-year contract for $63 million.
In 2023, the defender played the first eight games of the season, for a total of 21 tackles including 1 for loss, 1.5 sacks and 1 pass deflection.
