Sunday’s game against the Steelers looked like a formality for the Buccaneers. Facing a young Kenny Pickett, the defense had to unfold.
And without TJ Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick to annoy him, Tom Brady should have had a pretty quiet afternoon too.
But nothing went as planned. Brady yelled on his offensive line. Mitchell Trubisky came in to finish off Tampa. And in the end, the Floridians were angry.
Todd Bowles was not happy with the microphones.
“First, we didn’t take them lightly. Then I think the guys who still live on the memory of the Super Bowl are in another world. We’re going to have to get our hands dirty and work like everyone else. We have worked hard, and we must work even harder. No one is going to give us anything. No one will be sad for us. Coaches and players, we have to get back to it. Finished talking. »
Same story, or almost, for Brady.
“We didn’t deserve the win,” the quarterback told reporters. “It’s a game where you have to earn the victory, you have to play well, and we’re not doing a good job of it. I think we did it for six weeks. I think we’re playing below our level, and we all have to look at ourselves in the mirror and find out why. »
