The Will Levis era begins in Tennessee.
It took him two meetings to get everyone to agree. Will Levis, the 33rd pick in this year’s draft, is now officially the Titans’ starting quarterback. The announcement was made by his coach Mike Vrabel at a press conference this Tuesday.
“ We’ll continue with Will. We believe this is the best opportunity for our team. I spoke to the team and everyone involved about it”Vrabel explained, according to Teresa Walker of the Associated Press.
Among those involved, we find first and foremost Ryan Tannehill. The player was the starting quarterback for the Titans before being injured against the Ravens. He will not get his job back. It must be said that his stats (2TDs, 6 Ints) are not up to those of the rookie, who also has plenty of potential to develop.
Will Levis, the best room for improvement
Already impressive against the Falcons, Will Levis came close to claiming the scalp of the Steelers. Author of four touchdowns for one interception, he showed good things.
“We want to be able to work with him, progress, develop, and win. That’s how you improve, especially in this position.” explained Vrabel, who had already tried it, without success, with Malik Willis last year.
Levis will therefore start on Sunday against the Buccaneers and until further notice. A way for Vrabel to give confidence to his player who had fallen out of the first round of the draft while some put him in the first ten choices. However, the Titans are proof that starting statuses can quickly come and go.
