Titans – Patriots (20-17): Drake Maye is too alone

Tennessee Titans (2-6) – New England Patriots (2-6): 20-17

While he obtained overtime on a crazy action, Drake Maye (29/41, 206 yards, 1TD, 2 INT, 95 yards rushing) finally threw an interception synonymous with defeat. After carrying the team on his shoulders, the young quarterback was unable to win this match, having too little support. The ground play outside Maye only managed 15 yards, and the line took on water.

The Titans therefore won a victory by default, in particular thanks to a decisive Tony Pollard (154 yards) and a sufficient Mason Rudolph (20/33, 240 yards, 2TD, 1 INT). This victory does not offer any additional excitement about the potential of the group, but is still good to take.

Neither of these two teams can play in the playoffs.

A flash, then night

The Titans' first drive is clinical, on the ground and in the air, and Mason Rudolph finds Nick Vannett for the touchdown. It's the only touchdown of the first act, because the rest will be far from an offensive festival (7-0).

The best actions of this first act are interceptions, one on each side. New England manages to score a field goal, a meager reward for a Drake Maye still so isolated (7-3). After a mediocre first act, the Titans are in front almost by default.

Drake Maye, unfortunate hero

Returning from the locker room, Drake Maye advances the attack and Rhamondre Stevenson concludes on the ground (7-10). Tennesse equalizes immediately, carried by a gala Tony Pollard.

In a match that was descending into boredom, Arden Key broke the situation with a strip sack, putting the ball back in the Titans' camp. Tennesse took advantage with a touchdown from Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (17-10).

While the match seems decided, it takes the magic of Drae Maye to prolong the match. After an 11-play drive, the quarterback found Rhamondre Stevenson in a memorable action. Head for the extension!

Tennessee ends up winning with a field goal following a drive managed with efficiency and caution, while Drake Maye throws an interception symbolic of the match: the others do nothing, so he tries to create the exceptional. This time it didn't happen and Amani Hooker made his second interception of the evening.
