Like a deja vu. In 2018, after a Super Bowl played by the Eagles, Frank Reich, their offensive coordinator, was hired by the Colts as head coach a few days after the game.
This year, it’s Shane Steichen’s turn. This Tuesday, the Indianapolis team announced the hiring of the offensive coordinator who led the Philadelphia offense for the past two years.
In 2022, the Eagles finished 3rd in the league in yards gained and runs scored. With Steichen, well helped by a very high level offensive line, Philadelphia has developed a powerful ground game. The coordinator also participated in the progression of Jalen Hurts.
Steichen leaves on a small disappointment, with a lost Super Bowl. But he now has the opportunity to write his own story. All this at only 37 years old.
