Inevitably, the logic is simple: the Bears have the first choice but not necessarily need a quarterback since they have Justin Fields. Several teams are in dire need of a pitcher, and Chicago must hope to up the ante.
ESPN recalls that the No. 1 pick has been traded 12 times since 1967. The last time was in 2016, when the Rams reclaimed the No. 1 pick from the Titans to select Jared Goff.
