Saints and Buccaneers in the fight, coaches who shine in the AFC, Buffalo back… What to remember from this week 15 in the NFL
The title will be played between the Saints and the Buccaneers
With their respective victories this weekend, the Buccaneers and the Saints position themselves as the two contenders for the title in the NFC South. An observation reinforced by the tragic defeat of the Falcons.
The two teams will play each other in Week 17 in Tampa for what appears to be the title finale. Saints or Buccaneers? Part of the team has made its choice
But in the end, there will only be one left.
Shane Steichen as an outsider…
While we promised a complicated and learning season for the Colts and their new coach, Shane Steichen, here are the Colts on the verge of the playoffs. Indianapolis even got back into a tie with the Jaguars for 1st place in the AFC South.
An already successful season which owes a lot to the new Colts coach. Quickly deprived of Jonathan Taylor and Anthony Richardson, the coach was able to stay the course and build an attack capable of evolving and performing.
The proof with this weekend, where the Colts lost their runner and receiver 1. Here again, Steichen found answers and knew how to advance his attack to win. The coach could well be one of the outsiders for the title of coach of the year!
But don't forget Kevin Stefanski
We stay in the AFC with Kevin Stefanski. The Cleveland coach also deserves to be in this week's lessons as one of the favorite coaches for the title of coach of the year.
Despite a cascade of injuries, Stefanski perfectly leads his team in attack, having won 4 different quarterbacks this season! He also had the excellent idea of hiring the services of Jim Schwartz as defensive coordinator. Being a good leader also means knowing how to surround yourself well.
The return of Buffalo Bill
Victory against the Chiefs, demonstration against the Cowboys. The Bills are back in great shape this December. With a returning defense and above all a very strong ground game, Buffalo is completely relaunching in the AFC.
A golden trio
Have the Lions ever had such a complete offense? So yes, there was a Barry Sanders (but too alone) and a formidable Matthew Stafford – Calvin Johnson duo but these 2023 Lions are more armed than ever.
With this week 15, Detroit can affirm one thing: it is in Detroit that the best runner-tight end-receiver trio is found. With Amon-Ra St.Brown (1175 yards, 7 TD), Sam LaPorta (758 yards, 9 TD) and Jahmyr Gibbs (792 yards, 10 TD), the Lions have a golden trio that holds the playoff hopes of any a town.
It's still a little early for Denver
Yes Denver is better. The face of the team compared to last year has nothing to do, especially in attack. With 6 wins in the last 7 games, we had started to get excited about the Broncos.
If Denver can still hope for the playoffs thanks to an easy upcoming schedule (Patriots, Chargers, Raiders), there should be no mistake about the ambitions of this team. Against the Lions, Denver once again showed what separates the team from the best in the league.
When it doesn't want…
Quarterback of the future or not for the Bears, Justin Fields continues to make many people in the league and in the stands doubt. But we must recognize the Bears player that his teammates are not always of great help when it comes to the number that matters most: the number of victories.
Carolina can win
No you are not dreaming, the Panthers can win a game. So yes, that requires torrential rain, a little luck and a tough opponent… But any victory is worth taking.
