The 7 lessons of week 18: Jordan Love, it works!

The Jordan Love experience is conclusive

Green Bay seems to have succeeded in its bet. By parting ways with multiple MVP, Aaron Rodgers, to leave the keys to Jordan Love, the Packers were necessarily taking a risk.

After a season with 32 touchdowns for 11 interceptions and a qualification for the playoffs, Year I of the Love era ended in the best possible way.

The franchise was once again patient and it could once again have been right. Green Bay's journey to the final phase will only be a “bonus” and the 2024 season is already shaping up to be exciting for the Wisconcin men. The main thing seems to be done: Jordan Love is the quarterback of the future. At least in the near future.

The Jaguars accident

Announced as big favorites in their division and as potential outsiders in the AFC, the Jaguars had a nightmare Sunday. By losing to Tennessee, Jacksonville lost the AFC South crown and above all did not qualify for the playoffs. A catastrophic result for the team which will have to remobilize this offseason.

Jacksonville failed in one of the hardest things in the NFL: confirming.

Speaking of AFC South…

Obviously the bankruptcy of the Jaguars made people happy. These are the Houston Texans, who therefore qualify for the playoffs and take the title in the division. A feat for a team led by a first-year quarterback and coach.

But beyond this qualification of the Texans, what must be remembered is that the AFC South promises to be an exciting division for the seasons to come. The Texans of course, but the Colts were also one of the very good surprises of the season by narrowly missing the playoffs. With a young group led by Shane Steichen, they could surprise again next year.

Jacksonville and Trevor Lawrence will inevitably want to take their revenge in 2024. Finally, the Titans have holes but they perhaps did the hardest part by giving the keys to the truck to Will Levis. The 2024 season promises to be exciting in this division.

Mike Tomlin the unsinkable

There is always a bit of debate surrounding Mike Tomlin. Good or great coach, everyone will have their own opinion. But what is certain is that the Steelers coach is unsinkable. While Pittsburgh was sinking into a crisis and its first negative season was coming to an end, Tomlin was able to find the words to re-mobilize his team and once again obtain a positive result. Better yet, the Steelers qualified for the playoffs!

Philadelphia in pain

A humiliating defeat to end the season, star players physically diminished and a catastrophic defense for several weeks. The NFC champion ends the season in great pain. So yes, the playoffs will perhaps bring new life to this team. But the dynamic is worrying on Phily's side and that's the main thing to remember before the playoffs…

Who are the best?

For the first time in the “modern” era of the NFL, a division saw its 4 teams finish with a positive record. So yes, a 17-game season prevents a neutral record but still… The 4 teams in the AFC North have achieved a real feat despite a lot of impressive injuries for many of them.
Every season, we ask ourselves which is the best division in the NFL and this week 18 delivered an indisputable answer: the AFC North is number 1.

The season is over, time for the playoffs!

Perhaps the best lesson of the week. And what's more, you will be able to hear the TDA team on the microphone for the superb Chiefs – Dolphins. See you on W9!
