Texans – Jaguars (23-20): Houston survives the return of Mac Jones

Houston Texans (8-5) – Jacksonville Jaguars (2-10): 23-20

Facing the worst defense in the NFL, the Texans had the opportunity to revive themselves, and reassure themselves, after 3 defeats in the last four matches. How sluggish it was. Sluggish in the first half, the attack woke up to provide the essentials. Not without getting a scare at the end of the match.

Returning from a shoulder injury which caused him to miss the last two games, Trevor Lawrence made an express visit to the field. Cut up and sent to the locker room in the 2nd quarter. It was Mac Jones (20/32, 235 yards, 2 TDs) who took control of the attack. And the former Patriot almost turned things around at the end of the match. Bankrupt only, Jacksonville leaves well defeated for the 10th time of the season.

Trevor Lawrence KO

In the middle of the nothingness of a soporific first half, Azeez Al-Shair wakes up the two teams by distinguishing himself in a very bad way. Author of a particularly ugly delayed tackle, he cuts Trevor Lawrence, sending him back to the locker room with a concussion. And in the process triggering the start of a general fight.

Before leaving, Lawrence had time to be intercepted by Stingley and that's about it, as the Jacksonville attack was non-existent. Opposite, nothing much more exciting. The running game is starving, and Nico Collins seems very alone.

Houston speeds up a little, Mac Jones responds

We had to wait until the middle of the 3rd quarter to see Stroud and Mixon come out of their torpor. The runner scored his 11th rushing touchdown of the season. On their momentum, they score on their next two possessions. A field goal, then a touchdown from Dalton Schultz, totally forgotten by the defense.

But if the public deserts the stadium aisles, the Jaguars do not give up. Mac Jones finds his rhythm and distributes. In quick succession, the former New England quarterback found Parker Washington then Brian Thomas to get back to 3 points with 3 minutes on the clock. It remains to stop Houston and Joe Mixon. The step is too high. The runner does what is necessary for the clock to tick. Houston wins and consolidates its position in the AFC South.
