Is Andy Reid in trouble? If the 60-year-old coach has a “Blank Space” in his playbook, superstar Taylor Swift could perhaps help him imagine the future plays of the Chiefs' offense. And it was three-time champion Patrick Mahomes who let the cat out of the bag (we're not talking about Tay Tay's extensions, of course!).
Since the announcement of the Swift-Kelce couple, the estimated positive economic impact for the league is more than 300 million dollars. Thus, 20% of millennials and 24% of American generation Z (born between 1997 and 2012) consider that the singer has increased their interest in the NFL.
Interviewed by NBC, Mahomes was indeed pleased with the impact of Taylor Swift on an audience usually not very interested in the NFL:
“It’s really cool to see all these girls and women who have fallen into the world of football. As a father of a little girl, it’s so cool to see these little girls hanging out with their dad watching football. And Taylor is so authentic. She could have been anything but, being the most famous person in the world. That’s really special to me.”
To the point of seeing Taylor Swift have an impact even on the field?
“She's really interested in the details of our sport, and she asks a lot of really insightful questions. She's even started drawing some plays. We might have to run them!”
Since her surprise appearance in the world of the NFL, the Reading native has been anything but an anti-hero.
