Surprise ! Jeff Saturday named interim Colts coach

Indianapolis did not drag.

Following the ousting of Frank Reich at the head of the franchise, it only took a short time for the club to find its new coach. Jim Irsay has decided, it will be Jeff Saturday who will lead the Colts until the end of the season.

The former center was a consultant for the team and has a background as a head coach at a prep school in Georgia, but he can’t claim any similar position at either professional or college level.

It’s not a big experience when you think that he was preferred to two former head coaches present in the workforce, Gus Bradley (defensive coordinator) and John Fox (defensive assistant).

At 47, Saturday is a member of the Indianapolis Ring of Honor, and ended his sports career with the Colts in 2011. Peyton Manning’s trusted man, he was named four times All-Pro and six times for the Pro Bowl .

Indianapolis is taking a very daring bet.
