Seattle Seahawks (3-0) – Miami Dolphins (1-2): 24-3
Third consecutive victory for the Seahawks, who remain undefeated. Facing the Dolphins without their starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Mike McDonald's players ensured the essentials without shining. This victory bears the mark of the ground game, with a double from Zach Charbonnet, and of the defense, making 10 pressures.
On paper, Miami expected a tough game. It showed on the field. Under pressure throughout the game, Skylar Thompson didn't even finish the game. Recruiting an experienced quarterback on the market could become urgent for Mike McDaniel, who sees his team with a negative record after this defeat.
Geno Smith in distributor mode
Seattle quickly took the lead early in the game. They quickly widened the gap despite the interception and a missed field goal. Zach Charbonnet (18 carries, 91 yards, 2 TDs) on the ground, then DK Metcalf (4 REC, 104 yards, TD) in the air were responsible for concretizing this domination in attack. Geno Smith (26/34, 289 yards, TD, 2 INT) distributed the ball well, with 8 receivers already involved in the first half alone.
Seattle is also dominant on defense. The defensive line scares the Dolphins' offensive line, causing 7 penalties, and the anger of Mike McDaniel. Skylar Thompson (13/19, 107 yards) is constantly under pressure (4 sacks suffered), and cannot find his receivers, even when he is given enough time. The symbol is embodied by Tyreek Hill (3 REC, 40 yards). The star receiver is nowhere to be found with only 17 yards in the first half. Supposed to relieve Thompson, the ground game embodied by De'Von Achane (11 carries, 3 REC, 58 yards) does not do much better with only 33 yards gained.
After Tua, Skylar also on the sidelines
The second half was less intense than the first. Seattle did the bare minimum, and was satisfied with a few yards gained. The defense continued its work with a new sack on Skylar Thompson by Tyrel Dodson. It was not until the 4th quarter that the offense woke up, with a Zach Charbonnet on fire. The runner took advantage of Kenneth Walker III's absence to show his best side.
The Dolphins are not moving forward at all on offense, converting only one 3rd attempt in total, with 3 plays on 4th attempt missed, including one close to a touchdown. In addition to leaving with the defeat, they are losing with a new injury to a quarterback. Skylar Thompson is replaced by Tim Boyle, who is unable to perform a miracle. Miami loses, and has reason to be worried for the rest of the season.
WE REPEAT! Zach Charbonnet fantasy owners are having a nice day!!
