Saints: Derek Carr preserved, Jake Haener starting

Remission too slow for Derek Carr. Hit in the hand, the quarterback is not yet officially ruled out, but the franchise has already confirmed that Jake Haener will be in charge of the Saints attack this Sunday.

In the absence of Derek Carr earlier this season, it was already not Jake Haener but the rookie Spencer Rattler who was chosen as the starter, for a record of 0 victories and 3 defeats.

Drafted last year in the 4th round, Haener has appeared 7 times this season, but never as a starter. The 25-year-old quarterback had a chaotic start in the league, being suspended 6 games for using performance-enhancing drugs in his rookie season. This summer, Haener also made public that he had a rare form of skin cancer.

He will therefore celebrate his first start against the Commanders this Sunday.
