Tom Brady’s new life will have to wait a bit. In an appearance on FOX Sports 1, the former Patriots and Buccaneers quarterback confirmed that he will indeed become a consultant for Fox Sports, but won’t start until the 2024 season.
“I’m going to take time to learn, be really good at what I want to do and not rush it,” Brady explained. “I think when people bet on me, whether it’s when I was drafted by the Patriots or when I signed with the Bucs, I want to be dedicated and not let people down. I think that was my biggest motivation. »
The seven-time champion was everywhere on Monday, including his own podcast. The opportunity to receive Bill Belichick.

“Coach Belichick and I developed an incredible relationship from the moment I was drafted. We spent a lot of time together. He taught me the essence of football, how to study defenses… I can’t imagine a better teacher to learn how to be an NFL quarterback.
And no, there would be no falling out between the two men.
“That’s stupid. People have always tried to separate us. I don’t think we’ve ever felt that in our relationship. We never tried to walk away. In fact, we have always tried to go in the same direction,” says Brady. “I think when we were in New England together for 20 years, they were tired of writing the same things. »
“Always a part of me that thinks it can play”
These appearances were also an opportunity for Brady to explain his state of mind when announcing his retirement.
“There will always be a part of me that wants to play, and a part of me that thinks I have the level to play. I think you just have to know that it’s the right time to stop. So for me, I knew it had to stop at some point, and I think it’s the right time. It’s not that I can’t do it anymore. It’s not that I don’t want more. It’s not that I wouldn’t be happy to play. Tom Brady Sr, the player’s father, also gave some keys to the player’s departure.
“It’s been a really tough six months from a personal, family and football perspective,” Tom Brady’s father told Boston.com. “Once he said to me, ‘I’m tired of being hit. “He played 23 years and he holds the record for the most sacks in the NFL… and there must be another two or three thousand more hits. At 45 you say to yourself “Hey, do I still want to get hit? In the meantime, Brady has announced on FOX Sports that he will not be taking up his commentary duties on FOX until the fall of 2024. Time to breathe a little.
