The Ravens imitate the Buccaneers. An impact for the future of Lamar Jackson?
After Byron Leftwich at the Buccaneers, it is now Greg Roman’s turn to take the exit.
According to NFL Media, the Ravens offensive coordinator was relieved of his duties on Thursday, days after his team was eliminated by the Bengals in the wild card.
In office since 2019 as the offensive coordinator of the Ravens where he was doing his 2nd term after having been coach of the offensive line during the 2006 season, Greg Roman contributed to the development of Lamar Jackson where he led the current Ravens quarterback to the title of MVP during the 2019 season.
Moreover, he was even named offensive coordinator of the 2019 season by the press association (AP) with in particular a record of yards on the ground for the Ravens in attack (3216 yards).
In a statement posted to the Ravens’ official team twitter, John Harbraugh thanked Greg Roman for his contribution.
The Ravens will therefore experience a new offensive philosophy next season. It remains to be seen whether it will be with or without Lamar Jackson.
