Ran Carthon (GM) fired by the Tennessee Titans

Before the Titans ended the 2024 regular season by losing to the Texans, there were rumors of a possible firing of general manager Ran Carthon. These rumors are confirmed today. This Tuesday morning, the Titans announced that they were ending their collaboration with the 43-year-old leader.

Ran Carthon therefore leaves the Tennessee franchise after two years in his position. Arriving from San Francisco in 2023, he suffered a poor record with a record of 9-25 during this period. He is released four years from the end of his contract.

Ran Carthon is leaving, not Brian Callahan

In today's press release, Amy Adams Strunk, owner of the Titans, thanks Carthon for his work in Tennessee.

“I loved my time with Ran. He is a great man and a friend to all those who crossed his path. It is impossible to ignore that our football team has not improved over the last two years. I am deeply disappointed with our poor record during this period, of course, but my decision also reflects my concern about our long-term future if we do not change course. »

Change of course? Not quite. In parallel with the dismissal of Ran Carthon, head coach Brian Callahan is confirmed in his position. A decision which is surprising given his record of 3-14, but he is not the first to keep his position under these conditions.

The franchise also said that president of football operations Chad Brinker will lead the search for a new general manager. Whoever is hired to replace Carthon will have a nice gift. The latter in fact leaves behind the very first choice of the next Draft.
