Landed from the Jets this season after failing to produce a productive offense, Mike LaFleur has found a new base on the Rams side, still as offensive coordinator, according to information from Ian Rapoport (NFL Media).
In 2022, the Jets’ offense was the league’s fourth-lowest prolific offense by points scored per game.
However, on paper, the little brother of Matt LaFleur (HC, Packers) should find a coach whose ideas he shares. Indeed, Sean McVay is, like him, from the Shanahan “tree”: McVay was the Tight Ends coach under Kyle Shanahan in Washington while LaFleur was the passing game coordinator for the 49ers from 2017 to 2020. His own brother was also the Rams’ offensive coordinator in 2017.
According to NFL Media, LaFleur was the Rams’ No. 1 pick.
