Los Angeles Rams (2-3) – Philadelphia Eagles (5-0): 14-23
Twice as many yards, almost twice as much time of possession, the Eagles ended up stifling the valiant but simply less strong Rams. After a tight first act, where the teams went back and forth, Philadelphia took control of the match in the second half by raising its level, particularly in defense.
Cooper Kupp back and already essential
Rich in surprises since the start of the season with the emergence of Kyren Williams and the revelation Puka Nacua, the Rams attack recorded the return of Cooper Kupp. The 2021 offensive player immediately stood out with 5 receptions and 56 yards during LA’s first possession, bringing his team to the gates of the end zone where Tutu Atwell was able to finish. A response to a perfect inaugural drive from the Eagles concluded by Dallas Goedert.
Shortly before half-time, another long-distance reception once again puts his team in a good position and this time, it is the darling of the start of the season Nacua who connects with Stafford for the touchdown which propels the Rams in front for the 1st times of the match. A short-lived advantage. In 32 seconds, Philly goes all the way up the field taking advantage of the indiscipline of Derion Kendrick guilty in quick succession, and Jalen Hurts in his now classic QB sneak, is taken into the goal by all of his teammates. (14-17)
The Eagles slowly but surely
Particularly well protected, Hurts plays in an armchair, and he finds his targets. Goedert and AJ Brown well exceed the 100 yard mark and the quarterback is also gaining ground on the ground. But for all that, the attack is unable to create a clear gap and take cover. An interception conceded in the opposing goal, and two field goals, the balance sheet remains modest. But sufficient thanks to an increasingly stifling defense. Stafford is under pressure and can no longer move the chains. Three punts, a 4th missed attempt, and only 50 yards in the 2nd half before the last possession of the last minute.
