Transparent, like his attack, in the first half, Kyren Williams then carried his team against the Cardinals who were too fair to hope for better.
Los Angeles Rams (3-3) – Arizona Cardinals (1-5): 26-9
Nine straight running plays and 59 yards to start the second half. Sean McVay is many things, but certainly not predictable. It was necessary at least that to thwart a Cardinals defensive squad which had until then made life difficult for the Rams attack. The tenth play of this inaugural series of the second act was… A pass from Matthew Stafford for a touchdown from his best friend, Cooper Kupp (13-9). Or how to get your head back on track in ten lessons.
Add another to the Stafford-to-Kupp highlight reel.

Before that, this duel of dunces who are not really dunces had given birth to a mouse. Between the Cardinals, surprising although limited, in search of a third consecutive victory at SoFi Stadium, and the Rams in pseudo reconstruction, we could expect an open game. Nope. Deadly boring, unless you appreciate the 74th field goal of more than 50 yards achieved by Matt Prater. Enough to improve his absolute record.
Doctor Kyren and Mister Williams
As surprising as they have been since the start of the season, the Cardinals have a clearly identified Achilles heel: the fourth quarters. Jonathan Gannon’s men had only scored 7 small points in the last period, over the first five weeks, compared to 54 points conceded. The gods of the NFL sometimes have a mean humor, the very first pass from Josh Dobbs at the start of the 4th quarter, in the Rams red zone, was intercepted by Christian Rozeboom.
On the other side of the field, the recipe for success was found. Forgotten the three runs for five yards in the first half, Kyren Williams suddenly became unstoppable. Transformed and author of the touchdown which essentially sealed the fate of the match, his seventh of the season (23-9).
Nothing is going well, the game is over. The baby Cardinals, still too tender, uninspired in attack and not yet consistent enough over 60 minutes, couldn’t have done more this Sunday. Learning the hard way.
