The Las Vegas quarterback could miss Week 4.
Josh McDaniels confirmed to ESPN that Jimmy Garoppolo was evaluated for a concussion following the game against the Steelers, and was placed in post-concussion protocol on Monday. If the quarterback does not come out of the procedure during the week, he will not be available to meet the Chargers in week 4.
The announcement comes as a surprise, including to the Las Vegas management, since the problem was not raised during the game. Garoppolo participated in the entire game and did not miss any offensive action. The head coach himself wonders.
“Nothing was mentioned, we didn’t talk about that type of topic,” McDaniels said. “We’re not even sure what or when he was hit, if it’s not just a buildup. I’ve no idea. There hasn’t been any conversation about this, so I’m not exactly sure. I haven’t seen him yet today. »
In relief of Garoppolo, the Raiders have Brian Hoyer and rookie Aidan O’Connel. McDaniels announced that the team is preparing for all situations in preparation for the meeting with Los Angeles.
