Jacksonville Jaguars (3-12) – Las Vegas Raiders (3-12): 19-14
History doesn't really tell which Jaguars or Raiders fans are more disappointed at the end of this meeting. Those who have just lost another match in an already disastrous season or those who have just scored a third victory which will change nothing in their season except to drop them in the draft? It is certainly unlikely that players from Jacksonville and Las Vegas entered the field this Sunday with the idea of losing on purpose.
One thing is certain, the absence of intensity, challenge and above all talent still gave the impression of a match that no one really wanted to win. In this little game, it was the Raiders who lost… since they won. Are you following?
Brock Bowers still very good
We must therefore wait almost 15 minutes and the 5th drive of the game to see the first points of the day. A one-yard touchdown on the ground from Tank Bigsby (12 races, 50 yards and 1 TD) to give the visitors the advantage (0-7). The problem is that this race is almost the only positive action of this first half for Mac Jones' partners (25/39, 247 yards and 1 TD). Apart from this 29-yard drive to open the score, Jacksonville punted 4 times and lost two fumbles.
Thirty complicated minutes for the visitors. To reassure themselves, they can tell themselves that in front of them, it's barely better. Las Vegas starts this game just as slowly, but responds quickly to Bigsby's touchdown. For them, the method is the same: a one-yard touchdown on the ground. For the locals, the performer is called Alexander Mattison (7-7). However, they did better than their opponents at the end of the period by scoring two field goals to take the lead at the break (13-7), helped by the always very good Brock Bowers (11 receptions for 99 yards).
The streak of 10 consecutive defeats stopped
Upon returning from the locker room, the scenario repeats itself to the nearest comma. The punt rain begins to fall again in the desert, the Jaguars finally manage to score a touchdown and Aidan O'Connell's teammates (24/38, 257 yards) respond immediately. This time, Ameer Abdullah imitates Brian Thomas Jr. (9 receptions, 132 yards and 1 TD). The first scored on a 7-yard run while the second scored a 62-yard touchdown on a pass from Mac Jones a few minutes earlier.
Result, back to square one for Doug Pederson's men who are still 6 points behind (19-14). A gap that will never be able to be bridged. Even during a last chance drive at the very end of the match. This victory will at least have the merit of stopping a series of 10 consecutive defeats for the Nevada players. The Raiders had not won since September 29.
