Las Vegas Raiders (2-2) – Cleveland Browns (1-3): 20–16
It's the beginning of the crisis in Cleveland!
If you watched last week's game against the Giants, you don't need to watch the game against the Raiders. In his storyline, this game looks like last week's game for the Browns from start to finish.
A missed penalty, then two failures on the 4th attempt give the Raiders the victory. Opposite, the Las Vegas franchise went through all the emotions, with Gardner Minshew (14/24, 130 yards) in mode game manager. Despite the absence of many starters, they left with the victory having shown heart, especially in defense (15 pressures).
On equal terms
The first period is balanced. Every team has its long moment in an offensive series. In the first quarter for the Browns with a touchdown from tight end Blake Whiteheart. In the second for the Raiders with a rushing touchdown from receiver Tre Tucker (5 REC, 44 yards, TD).
In the meantime, the two teams impose their style of play. The Browns go through the air a lot despite a surprisingly ghostly Amari Cooper (4 REC, 35 yards) (2 yards in the 1st half). Unlike the Raiders who accumulated 95 yards in 16 races, a ground game carried by runner Zamir White (17 races, 50 yards, 1 lost fumble). The 2 quarterbacks make few errors. However, they only advance their team intermittently.
This therefore gives a first period that is not necessarily exciting, but not uninteresting. Despite the absence of many executives and numerous penalties, the Raiders are doing well with Tyree Wilson replacing Maxx Crosby in defense in an honorable manner.
Deshaun Watson not helped
The second period becomes the scene of big nonsense. After taking the advantage, the Raiders drove home the point with an interception by Moehrig following a ball released by Amari Cooper who was definitely not in his right mind. This interception is enhanced by the first touchdown of a player from the practice squadcatcher DJ Turner.
But, the Raiders are doing everything to get Cleveland back into the game. This time, the culprit is Zamir White. The runner drops the ball which Rodney McLeod recovers, who scores a touchdown in his last season in the NFL.
Cleveland thinks it can get back in front thanks to Amari Cooper. Damage ! By holding back Christian Wilkins, the mistake of rookie center Nick Harris prevents Deshaun Watson's 82-yard touchdown (24/32, 176 yards, TD, INT) for his number 1 receiver.
The quarterback tried to gain respect so that his teammates would play better. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't do better. On the last action, he was sacked by another player from the practice squadCharles Snowden. Maxx Crosby, forfeited this week, can have a smile. His team is now balanced.
