Raiders – Broncos (32-23): Josh Jacobs offers the first victory in Las Vegas

Las Vegas Raiders (1-3) – Denver Broncos (2-2): 32-23

AFC West opposition between 2 disappointing teams from the start of the season. In terms of results for Las Vegas who still haven’t won a single match. At the level of animation for Denver which has still not exceeded 20 points in a game but which has a flattering record.

If Denver has finally exceeded 20 points, Las Vegas has bet on the ground game to afford its first victory of the season thanks to a great Josh Jacobs (28 races, 144 YDS, 2 TDs).

Balanced first half

The two teams go blow for blow in the first 2 quarters in a semblance of style opposition. On the ground for Las Vegas with an offensive touchdown from Josh Jacobs and a defensive touchdown following a fumble caused by Duron Harmon on Melvin Gordon covered by Amik Robertson. In the air for Denver with 2 touchdown passes from Russell Wilson (17/25, 237 YDS, 2 TDs – 4 carries, 29 yards, 1 TD) for Courtland Sutton (5 REC, 52 YDS, 1 TD) and Jerry Jeudy ( 4 REC, 53 YDS, 1 TD) in an attack that seemed to find its rhythm in the first half.

It is the special teams that decide between the teams in this first half with 2 field goals for the Raiders and only 1 for the Broncos with the bonus of a failed conversion each. (19-16)

Defenses take over

On returning from the locker room, the pace drops. The 2 defenses are illustrated with 2 sacks from Maxx Crosby for the Raiders, 1 sack from K’Waun Williams for the Broncos and many penalties in Denver and in particular against Garrett Bolles, in great difficulty against Chandler Jones.

Nevertheless, the Raiders’ running attack manages to distinguish itself thanks to a very good offensive line and a very good Josh Jacobs, especially since Denver loses Javonte Williams.

Josh Jacobs finishes the job

If Denver manages to come back thanks to a ground touchdown from Russell Wilson, the ground defense suffers terribly. It was therefore enough for the running back of the Raiders to complete the very good work on the ground of his linemen and bend the match (32-23). A final drop signed Mike Boone definitively buries the Broncos’ comeback hopes.
