The traditional Pro Bowl returns to its classic game format after the virtual 2021 version. The clash between an AFC selection against the NFC selection will take place on February 6 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. For this occasion two former glories are named captains for each of the two teams.
The league unveiled the names of these famous “Legend Captains” on Wednesday. Reggie Wayne and Rod Woodson will be responsible for the AFC conference. Jason Witten and Luke Kuechly will be in charge of the NFC conference. Between them, these former players have 35 Pro Bowl selections.
Wayne was in the 2000s the preferential target of Peyton Manning, integrating the top 10 of the most productive receivers in history. Hall of Famer, Woodson made the heyday of the Steelers defense in the 90s before winning Super Bowl XXXV with the Ravens. Young retiree, Luke Kuechly was for nearly a decade the benchmark for the position of linebacker under the colors of the Panthers. Record holder for the number of games for a tight end, Witten spent 17 seasons in the NFL.
