Preseason 3 (Thursday): Kenny Pickett ends in style

Atlanta Falcons – Pittsburgh Steelers: 0-24

The Steelers starters have had a perfect preseason. Two offenses for two touchdowns on Thursday. Which gives a total of five touchdowns in as many series played during the preseason. Kenny Pickett (4/4, 86 yards) again made a very good copy, with two passes over 30 yards to Diontae Johnson and George Pickens. It was then runners Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren who finished the ground work by entering the end zone.

Even the defense shone, with a sack from TJ Watt on the Falcons’ opening offensive.

Atlanta did not field their starters. It was Taylor Heinicke (0/2) who was Watt’s victim. He then gave way to Logan Woodside (24/31, 196 yards). Keilhan Harris (6 rec, 71 yards) was his main target.

Philadelphia Eagles–Indianapolis Colts: 13-27

Anthony Richardson (6/17, 78 yards) will have to adjust the sights. If the rookie quarterback ended up making a few interesting passes, he too often missed the target in the six series he played in the first half. He has also once again shown that he will do damage on the ground (5 races, 38 yards). The fact that Richardson is the most productive runner on his team would also worry the Colts, while Jonathan Taylor seems to be about to leave. Despite everything, the holders of Indianapolis snatched 17 points.

It must be said that they were playing against the substitutes of Philadelphia. Nick Sirianni took no risks with his stars. It was Marcus Mariota who opened the ball. Only two passes for him on the first offensive, with success for 21 yards. Then it was the runners who did the job until a Trey Sermon touchdown. The attack had started at 27 yards from Indianapolis thanks to a good return from the kick of engagement signed Devon Allen. Tanner McKee (19/34, 158 yards) had the bulk of the work after Mariota, and Philadelphia ended the preseason with serious doubts about the second quarterback position.
