Power ranking S9: The fall of the Cowboys

The Cowboys keep falling. With a third consecutive defeat, Dallas may have already said goodbye to the playoffs. As if that wasn't enough, Dak Prescott could miss several games. In the rest of the NFC, the Lions continue to maintain their domination of the NFC North, the Eagles cling to the pace imposed by the Commanders, and the Falcons continue to quietly rise.

On the AFC side, the Chiefs continue their perfect season. Behind, the Bills and the Ravens seem to be the only ones capable of bothering them. After five consecutive defeats, the Jets are finally getting back on track and offering themselves a little hope of a happy ending.

As a reminder, this hierarchy is not only based on the number of successes, but also on current form. If two teams are close and haven't played each other recently, one wonders which one would win if the match were played today. Beating the strongest is not going to propel you to the top in the blink of an eye. Losing to one of the dunces won't plunge you into the abyss either. One can win and tumble, bow and climb. This is the merciless law of Power Ranking…

1. Kansas City Chiefs (8-0)

It didn't take long for DeAndre Hopkins to find his feet in Kansas City.

In control in New York, Jayden Daniels and the Commanders are getting closer and closer to the playoffs that Washington has not experienced since 2020.

Week 10: Steelers reception

6. Minnesota Vikings (6-2) +3

The day Sam Darnold realizes that Jordan Addison is open all the time, this offense will really hurt. In the meantime, it is again the defense which allowed them to get a sixth victory this season.

Week 10: trip to the Jaguars

7. Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) +3

Despite the very solid performance of Saquon Barkley and a 22-point lead, the Eagles managed to scare themselves until the end.

Week 10: trip to the Cowboys

8. Green Bay Packers (6-3) -4

In the pouring rain, Jordan Love had a much harder time adapting to the elements than Jared Goff.

Week 10: bye week

9. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) -1

After three consecutive victories, the Steelers are at rest. Enough to prepare for the complicated trip to Washington.

Week 10: trip to the Commanders

10. Atlanta Falcons (6-3) +2

The complicated start to the season had calmed the hype around Atlanta. Since then, the Falcons have just won five wins in six games. With the Saints in disarray and the Buccaneers weakened by injuries, the NFC South can no longer escape them.

Week 10: trip to the Saints

11. Houston Texans (6-3) -6

The absences of Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs were felt. Catastrophic against the Jets, CJ Stroud will quickly have to learn to do without them.

Week 10: reception of the Lions

12. San Francisco 49ers (4-4) -1

A week of rest which comes at the right time to treat the little aches and pains and finally start this season in the right direction.

Week 10: trip to the Buccaneers

13. Los Angeles Chargers (5-3) +2

Last year the Chargers finished 24ths in number of points collected. This season, they are currently 1ers. The Jim Harbaugh effect?

Week 10: receiving the Titans

At the halfway point of the season, the Cardinals are leading their division and if they continue to play like this, they won't be an easy pick.

Week 10: Jets reception

15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5) -2

They had the momentum, they should have gone for the two-point conversion and kept their destiny in their own hands. Instead, the Buccaneers settled for tying, pinned their hopes on a play that fell the wrong way, and left Kansas City with another loss.

Week 10: reception of the 49ers

16. Los Angeles Rams (4-4) +4

The Rams went through all states in Seattle. It is finally Demarcus Robinson providing a happy ending in Los Angeles.

Week 10: Dolphins reception

17. Seattle Seahawks (4-5) -3

They will long regret this failed 4&1 on the 10 yards of the Rams, in overtime.

Week 10: bye week

18. Denver Broncos (5-4) -2

The Broncos defense only took 15 points on average over the first 8 games of the season. Against the Ravens, she exploded.

Week 10: trip to the Chiefs

Week 10: trip to the Ravens

20. Chicago Bears (4-4) -4

As soon as they don't play against the Panthers or the Jaguars, it gets more complicated for Caleb Williams and the Bears.

Week 10: Patriots reception

21. Indianapolis Colts (4-5)

The Joe Flacco choice did not bear fruit. In Minneapolis, the Colts defense put up more points than the offense.

Week 10: Receiving the Bills

22. New York Jets (3-6) +3

New York's season isn't over yet and the Jets have Garrett Wilson to thank a lot for that.

Week 10: trip to the Cardinals

23. Dallas Cowboys (3-5) -4

You are missing only one being and everything is depopulated. The transition from Dan Quinn to Mike Zimmer is currently catastrophic for the Cowboys defense. At least Dak Prescott remains lucid.

Week 10: Eagles reception

24. Cleveland Browns (2-7) -1

Very good against the Ravens, catastrophic against the Chargers: no doubt, the Browns have the expected Jameis Winston.

Week 10: bye week

25. Miami Dolphins (2-6) +2

Miami's season was hopeless without Tagovailoa. Since her return, she is becoming very frustrating.

Week 10: trip to the Rams

26. New York Giants (2-7)

This time, the defeat is not to be put on the shoulders of the quarterback. Against the Commanders, Daniel Jones was abandoned by his defense.

Week 10: trip to Munich against the Panthers

27. Tennessee Titans (2-6) +4

Not every team can boast of having doubled their number of wins this week.

Week 10: Patriots reception

28. Carolina Panthers (2-7) +4

Week 10: reception of the Vikings

32. New England Patriots (2-7) -2

Drake Maye is indeed a rookie. He alternated the exceptional And the catastrophic.
