Power Ranking S5: the Lions soar, the Patriots in free fall

Mixed fortunes for the Lions and Patriots this week. While Dallas and Buffalo fell this weekend, Detroit continues its rise to the top of this Power Ranking. This week, Jared Goff’s partners even enter the Top 5 of this ranking for the first time this year. At the same time, New England cannot stop its infernal fall to the bottom. You have to go down to 29th place to find any trace of Bill Belichick’s men. The situation is serious.

As a reminder, this hierarchy is not only based on the number of successes, but also on current form. If two teams are close and haven’t played each other recently, one wonders which one would win if the match were played today. Beating the strongest is not going to propel you to the top in the blink of an eye. Losing to one of the dunces won’t plunge you into the abyss either. One can win and tumble, bow and climb. This is the merciless law of Power Ranking…

1. San Francisco 49ers (5-0)

For now, it’s hard to imagine who will be able to stop this attack.

Week 6: trip to the Raiders.

30. New York Giants (1-4) -4

The regime in place is not (yet) in danger, but the Giants have clearly lost the line.
