Playoffs 2023: the favorite Bills? The full editorial prognosis

Fourteen teams, two Super Bowl berths, one title.

The equation of the playoffs is known, but especially the participants. Who will go to the end? Here is the prognosis of the editorial staff of TDA!

Voters: Antoine Ajavon, Alain Mattei, Alexandre Lauque, Ben, Brice Duhamel, Clément Charvet, Elioth Salmon, François Tusséki, Gregory Richard, Kevin Renaudet, Jean-Michel Bougeard, Lucas Vola, Marc Orfila, Matthieu Pasquier, Mathieu David, Nithinya Simuong , Raoul Villeroy, Raphaël Masmejean, Romain Therasse, Sebastien Polomeni, Tiffany Amisse, Tristan Henry, Victor Roullier, Xavier Renaud

The bracket (explanation and percentage in the rest of the article)

wild card

AFC Conference

Jaguars (4) – Chargers (5): Chargers win 54%

Bengals (3) – Ravens (6): Bengals victory 96%

Bills (2) – Dolphins (7): Bills win 96%

Unsurprisingly, the Bills and the Bengals are largely favorites, it must be said that they will face two teams deprived of a decent quarterback. The only undecided match is between the Chargers and the Jaguars, and it is ultimately the lowest ranked team that comes out in this young QB duel.

NFC Conference

Buccaneers (4) – Cowboys (5): Cowboys win 58%

Vikings (3) – Giants (6): Vikings win 71%

49ers (2) – Seahawks (7): 49ers win 96%

If the writing trusts the Niners, the victory of the Vikings is less clear. A little less than a third of the editorial staff imagine the Giants creating a surprise. The most indecisive match is obviously the meeting between Tom Brady and “America’s Team”, and it is the latter who wins.

Divisional Round

AFC Conference

Chiefs: 96% chance of qualifying

Bills: 67% chance of qualifying

Bengals; 33% chance of qualifying

Chargers: 4% chance of qualifying

No votes: Jaguars, Ravens, Dolphins

As expected, it’s a 3-way race in the AFC which leads to a virtual certainty: the Chiefs will be in the conference final. The duel between Bills and Bengals turns to the advantage of the Bills, for a match which would therefore be disputed in Atlanta.

NFC Conference

Eagles: 79% chance of qualifying

49ers: 79% chance of qualifying

Vikings: 17%

Cowboys: 13%

Other votes: Buccaneers (8%), Giants (4%)

No votes: Seahawks

For the NFC, the suspense is much less strong for the voters: the Eagles and the 49ers are the big favorites! Vikings and Cowboys are lagging far behind, but the odds are real.

conference final

AFC Conference

Chiefs: 42% chance of qualifying

Bengals: 13% chance of qualifying

Bills: 46% chance of qualifying

No votes: Jaguars, Chargers, Ravens, Dolphins

In a breathtaking duel, it is the Bills who get a place in the Super Bowl, beating the Chiefs by a single vote!

NFC Conference

Eagles: 29% chance of qualifying

49ers: 58% chance of qualifying

Other votes: Buccaneers (4%), Vikings (8%)

No votes: Cowboys, Giants, Seahawks

Less suspense here, the favorite is San Francisco! Author of a second part of the canon season, Kyle Shanahan’s men are going to face the Bills.

superbowl

Bills: 38% chance of victory

49ers: 25% chance of victory

Other vote: Chiefs (29%), Bengals (4%), Eagles (4%)

No votes: Jaguars, Chargers, Ravens, Dolphins, Buccaneers, Cowboys, Vikings, Giants, Seahawks

This is one of the paradoxes of these votes: the two favorites for the Super Bowl are in the same conference. Suffice to say that the editorial staff has more confidence in the AFC than in the NFC. San Francisco still has a small chance, while Bengals and Eagles also receive one vote each.
