Players of the week 3: Josh Allen is the boss

They took their time, but the quarterbacks are finally waking up. After a timid start to the season, the pitchers are finally being rewarded with the title of player of the week. For Josh Allen, it's starting to become a habit. This is the 13th time he's been rewarded since the beginning of his career. A fitting recognition for the Bills quarterback, who walked all over the Jaguars' defense. On the NFC side, however, it's a new kid who wins the trophy. Jayden Daniels is the first rookie quarterback to shine this season. He was brilliant in his team's victory against the Bengals. Enough to become the (early) favorite for the title of rookie of the year.

Not all rookie quarterbacks are created equal. Proof of this is that Caleb Williams, the number one pick in the last draft, threw two interceptions against the Colts. Both were intercepted by Jaylon Jones, AFC Player of the Week. On the defensive end, Jones and Jonathan Greenard proved this week that you can terrorize a quarterback in several different ways. Greenard spent his evening chasing CJ Stroud, sending him to the mat three times. The former Texans helped his team continue their extraordinary start to the season.

Every team tries to keep their punter off the field as much as possible. But when he has to play, he might as well be good. In their tough win over the Cardinals, the Lions needed Jack Fox, and he delivered. Arizona suffered from tough starting positions, partly because of Detroit's punter. The Broncos finally got their season off to a good start with a win over Tampa Bay. They were able to count on an impeccable Wil Lutz, who scored 14 points at 100%.
