Northern quarterbacks are rewarded. On defense, cornerbacks praised for their interceptions.
The AFC offensive player of the week is, for the second time this season, Lamar Jackson (QB, Ravens). He consolidates his place in the MVP race. Indeed, Jackson produced a real demonstration in the victory against the Dolphins. He is the second quarterback in history with two five-touchdown games and a rating of 158.3, after Ben Roethlisberger.
Traded mid-season, Bills cornerback Rasul Douglas was rewarded on defense for the AFC after his performance against the Patriots. Douglas made two interceptions including a 40-yard touchdown, his third of his career. On the special teams side, the league elected Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker for having achieved the best number of points on the kick of the season, with 19 points.
On the NFC side, Packers quarterback Jordan Love had a solid game to propel Green Bay past the Vikings on Sunday night. He is the best offensive player in Week 17 after completing 24 of 33 passes for 256 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Bears rookie cornerback Tyrique Stevenson was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week. Stevenson had two of Chicago's four interceptions in the win over the Falcons.
Despite the Giants' defeat, Gunner Olszewski (PR) was voted special teams player of the week. He scored a 94-yard touchdown on a punt return. This is the second of his career.
