Players of the week 12: Jalen Hurts and Josh Jacobs finally rewarded

First for the Eagles quarterback and Raiders running back. First for Ed Oliver too.

This is a first for Jalen Hurts and Josh Jacobs. Jalen Hurts has already been rewarded but he received the September player of the month trophy.

Jalen Hurts career and franchise rushing record with 157 yards. He adds to that 2 touchdowns during the victory of the Eagles over the Packers. Career record also for Josh Jacobs in terms of yards with 303 (229 rushing, 74 receiving). The Raiders running back gave his team the victory in overtime against the Seahawks on an 86-yard run.

Among defenders, it is also a first for Ed Oliver. The Bills defensive tackle made a sack for a safety in the Bills’ win over the Lions. On the other hand, it is the 2nd career distinction for Brian Burns. The Panthers pass rusher made 2 sacks on Russell Wilson in his team’s win over the Broncos.

Author of a touchdown on return of commitment which allowed his team to return to the match against the Patriots, the Viking Kene Nwagngwu is rewarded for the 2nd time in NFC on special teams. In AFC, the Chargers punter JK Scott is rewarded for the first time with 4 punts in the 20 opposing yards.

NFC Conference:

– Offensive: Jalen Hurts (QB, Eagles), 16/28, 153 yards, 2 touchdowns – 17 runs, 157 yards.

– Defensive: Brain Burns (EDGE, Panthers), 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 defended pass.

– Special teams: Kene Nwangwu (RB, Vikings), 166 yards on kick return including a 97-yard touchdown.

AFC Conference:

– Offensive: Josh Jacobs (RB, Raiders), 33 carries, 229 yards, 2 touchdowns.

– Defensive: Ed Oliver (DT, Bills), 6 tackles (including 2 for loss), 1 sack (safety), 1 forced fumble, 1 covered fumble.

– Special teams: JK Scott (P, Chargers), 6 punts, 39 yards on average.
