New England Patriots (2-6) – New York Jets (2-6): 25-22
The Patriots' six-game losing streak is over. Orphaned by Drake Maye, who suffered a concussion at the end of the first quarter, the Patriots stayed the course with Jacoby Brissett at the helm. In a match marked by several changes of leader, it was ultimately Rhamondre Stevenson who would have the last word. On a fourth down a yard from the goal, he gave the Patriots victory.
Patriots start strong but lose Maye
Author of a touchdown in a 17-yard run, Drake Maye (3/6, 23 yards, 3 races, 46 yards, 1 touchdown) still seemed on course for a convincing performance. Unfortunately, the quarterback was forced to leave the field after suffering a concussion following an 18-yard run. He was replaced in the second quarter by veteran Jacoby Brissett (15/24, 132 yards). If he was not flamboyant, the old veteran will have been able to be decisive. Leading his team in points on the last two drives of the match, he sent Kayshon Boutte (3 receptions, 46 yards) back 34 yards one minute from the end of the match. This huge gain then allows Rhamondre Stevenson (20 races, 48 yards, 2 touchdowns) to rush into the goal 22 seconds from the end of the match.
Fifth defeat for the Jets and Rodgers
Despite a convincing match, it is a fifth consecutive defeat for Aaron Rodgers (17/28, 233 yards, 2 touchdowns) and the Jets. If the quarterback distributed well to Garrett Wilson (5 receptions, 113 yards), the connection with Davante Adams does not yet seem to be reestablished (4 receptions, 54 yards). At the end of the match and with 20 seconds on the clock, the Jets had the opportunity to come back to score. Rodgers was then able to connect with Davante Adams for 16 yards, but without the latter being able to get off the field. End of time and match.
