Patriots: Jacoby Brissett is back, Mike Onwenu stays

The nice thing about the Patriots is that there's no need to Photoshop to put their rookies in the team's jersey. Thanks nostalgia.

This time, it's Jacoby Brissett who returns. ESPN announces that the quarterback is returning for one year and $8 million.

Selected in the third round of the 2016 Draft by New England, Brissett left the following year to play for the Colts, Dolphins, Browns and Commanders. He is still only 31 years old, and here he is back home.

A few days after the departure of Mac Jones for Jacksonville, the Patriots have Jacoby Brissett and Bailey Zappe in the most important position in American football. They also have the third choice in the next Draft. The opportunity to select a quarterback with more potential?

Mike Onwenu to protect the lucky one

Whoever throws the ball for the Patriots in 2024 will have Mike Onwenu to protect him.

The guard signed a new 3-year, $57 million contract, according to ESPN.

A great reward for a player selected in the 6th round in 2020, and who has proven his versatility since then, with 24 starts at right guard, 24 starts at right tackle and 5 at left guard.

Onwenu is only 26 years old. His rookie contract earned him $3.4 million in four years. So he gets a nice raise.
