Panthers – Cowboys (10-33): Bryce Young has seen ghosts

Carolina Panthers (1-9) – Dallas Cowboys (7-3): 10-33

The Sundays follow one another and are similar for both teams. And this year, they are more pleasant for the Cowboys. Manhandled by a defense that sacked him 7 times, Bryce Young (16/29, 123 yards, 1TD, 1 int, 1 fumble) still shows no progress. A small consolation prize for the locals, the ground game worked well since Chuba Hubbard (10 races, 57 yards) and Miles Sanders (11 races, 50 yards) averaged 5.7 and 4.5 yards per carry respectively.

Opposite, Dak Prescott (25/38, 189 yards, 2TDs) will not have had to force his talent to achieve another victory. He was well helped by Tony Pollard (12 races, 61 yards, 1 TD) and above all by a defense that remained as solid as ever.

Individual errors that are costly

The game begins slowly with a punt exchange. Dallas then took advantage of an effective ground game to enter the redzone. An opportunity that Dak Prescott does not let slip. He finds Luke Schoonmaker in the endzone for the first touchdown of the game0-7.

Behind, the local defense held up well. However, it is weighed down by the lack of control of some of its members. Carolina is penalized three times on third attempt. An indiscipline that will give Dallas 10 points.

Offensively, the Panthers have, at times, found a little space to advance. But every promising possession ended with a sack. In the end, Bryce Young and his team couldn’t get better than a field goal, 3-17 at halftime.

The start of the second period is identical to the first with a new exchange of kicks. The first turning point in this third act arrives when the Panthers are preparing to punt again. Their kicker is hit by a Dallas player and the 5-yard penalty gives the locals the opportunity to attempt a fourth short-distance attempt. They will succeed in two more to finally conclude a possession in the promised land. Tommy Tremble brings his team back to 7 points, 10-17 two minutes from the end of the third quarter.

A suspense that disappears in two games

Already surprised by the Cardinals at the start of the season, the Cowboys do not intend to give up a second game against a team that is clearly inferior on paper. It will take them less than a minute to kill all the suspense in this match. It was first Tony Pollard, on a powerful 21-yard run, who widened the gap again.

On the next play, Young was intercepted by DaRon Bland who brought the ball back into the endzone. With 14 minutes left in the game, the Panthers trailed by just seven points. With 13 minutes and 48 seconds remaining, the score is 30-10 for the Cowboys.

Young is no longer there and lets the ball escape without contact. The fumble was recovered by Dallas who took the opportunity to score the last three points of the game.

With this new victory, Dallas continues its journey towards the playoffs. On the Panthers side, we continue to make the Bears happy.
