Panthers – Chiefs (27-30): Patrick Mahomes decisive

Carolina Panthers (3-8) – Kansas City Chiefs (10-1): 27-30

After the first defeat of the season against the Bills, the Kansas City Chiefs found their way to victory against the Panthers. Without being dazzling, Patrick Mahomes perhaps had his best game of the season, avoiding mistakes and taking advantage of the generosity of the opposing defense.

While Carolina had equalized 2 minutes from time, Mahomes used his experience and his legs to allow the winning field goal.

For the Panthers, it's a victory that leaves some hope, especially for Bryce Young who had a good match with a limited cast around him. The Chiefs defense stifled the running game, and yet the young quarterback did his best.

With this victory, the Chiefs are more than ever in the race for the number 1 seed in the AFC, while the Panthers already know that the season will end after 18 weeks.

Patrick Mahomes, the good father

As is often the case, Patrick Mahomes can count on his tight ends. Except that the most reliable tight end this season is Noah Gray. The former Duke scored two touchdowns in the first act, helping to build an advantage that was built in the first two minutes of the match.

Carolina can only respond with field goals, giving the impression of not succeeding in the red zone. Logically, the first act ends with a comfortable lead for Andy Reid's men (9-20).

Bryce Young's revolt, in vain

With their backs to the wall, the Panthers restart the match with a touchdown at the start of the second act. Bryce Young finds David Moore, after a 15-action, 70-yard drive (16-20).

But as is often the case, Kansas City does not let doubt settle in. Patrick Mahomes takes care of the air, Kareem Hunt takes care of the ground. It's veteran DeAndre Hopkins who scores the touchdown to reward a good drive from the Chiefs (16-27).

While the match seems sealed, Bryce Young will bring his team back with courage. First on a field goal, then on a touchdown from Chuba Hubbard on the ground after numerous mistakes by the Chiefs in defense (27-27).

While the match is undecided, Patrick Mahomes uses his legs to move up the field and offer his kicker the winning field goal. Mission successful, and victory for the Chiefs (30-27)
