Green Bay Packers (4-6) – Los Angeles Chargers (4-6): 23-20
After a back-and-forth that lasted the entire match, the Chargers had two opportunities to win. With 1 minute 23 left on their second and final attempt, Justin Herbert and his team were not able to put themselves in a position to equalize.
Despite still some questionable passes, there is better for Jordan Love (27/40, 322 yards, 2 TD). The quarterback notably showed his ability to react despite a running game cut short by the injury of two of his running backs. Already deprived of many starters due to injuries, the evening was nightmarish for Green Bay with several players still affected. Aaron Jones in particular seems the most seriously affected and his end of the season could be called into question.
To you, to me
After a very soporific start, the two teams took turns scoring a touchdown. Green Bay struck first thanks to a beautiful 32-yard reverse run from rookie Jayden Reed. The Chargers respond with tight end Stone Smartt for a 51-yard rush after reception. In both cases, the extreme passivity of the defenses helped to unblock the situations. Symbol of their current lack of confidence, the Bolts let a ready-made touchdown slip away on a ball released by Keenan Allen in front of the goal line.
Back to back at half-time, the two teams continue their back-to-back after the restart. Very discreet until then, Christian Watson was found by Love to take control. But symptomatic of their season, the Packers are unable to string together possessions that score points and let Los Angeles regain control. But Los Angeles lets opportunities pass, like Austin Ekeler releasing the leather a few yards after a slide a few yards from the end zone. They nevertheless managed to regain control at 5 minutes with a nice reception from Keenan Allen which made them forget their blunder at the start of the match. 16-20
Helped by a big gain from rookie Dontayvion Wicks (3 receptions, 91 yards) and a very stupid penalty conceded by Asante Samuel Jr, Love sends Romeo Doubs to the promised land. Behind despite two possessions, Herbert was unable to catch up, letting the Packers win at home.
