Packers – 49ers (38-10): Josh Jacobs pushes the 49ers into the abyss

Green Bay Packers (8-3) – San Francisco 49ers (5-6): 38-10

There was no game this Sunday between the Packers and the 49ers. Imperial on the ground (42 races, 169 yards) with an XXL Josh Jacobs, the locals humiliated the men of the Bay deprived of several frames.

Quickly ahead in the score, Green Bay never gave San Francisco the slightest chance to get back into the match. Kyle Shanahan's men had a horrible evening on both sides of the ball and are more in danger than ever in the race for the playoffs.

Josh Jacobs rolls into San Francisco

The first half bears the mark of Josh Jacobs (26 races, 106 yards, 3TD). The runner has already covered 91 yards and scored 1 touchdown by the time he returns to the locker room. Obviously, with such ease on the ground, Green Bay dominates the first act in points (17-7) and time (20 minutes of possession).

The locals started strong with a first drive of 12 actions, 7 minutes and 67 yards going back for the touchdown. In the end it's Tucker Kraft on a screen pass (7-0). Over the next two series, the Packers scored points with a field goal (10-0), then Jacobs' touchdown.

San Francisco is stunned defensively. The problem is that the attack is not doing better. Brandon Allen (17/29, 199 yards, 1TD, 1INT, 1FUM) has few opportunities at the start of the match.

We had to wait until the last 5 minutes of the half for the 49ers to finally win their first first down. The visitors continue their successes on 3rd attempts and move back into the opposing red zone. Allen concluded by finding Georges Kittle (6 rec, 82 yards, 1TD) alone at the back of the endzone for the touchdown of hope (17-7) just before halftime.

The ordeal of Allen and the 49ers

San Francisco hopes to ride this dynamic after returning from the locker room but the blow quickly subsides.

On his first possession, Allen saw Xavier McKinney stop his pass on the fourth attempt. Then on the following series, the inevitable safety took advantage of a ball that slipped through the hands of Deebo Samuel to make his 7th interception of the season. McKinney pulls the leather up to the opposing 26 yards. A penalty and a few games later, Josh Jacobs scored his double (24-7).

If a field goal (24-10) saves appearances for a while, the replacement quarterback commits a fumble under pressure in addition. Green Bay recovers the ball in the opposing 20 yards. It didn't take much for Josh Jacobs to improve this turnover by scoring his 3rd touchdown of the game (31-10).

As if that wasn't enough, on the next offensive possession it was all about Christian McCaffrey losing the ball by going to the ground. The worst being that the runner had gained more than 20 yards on this action… This is already the 49ers' third loss of the ball in the second half.

Once again, the Packers do not hesitate to humiliate their evening opponent. Jordan Love (13/23, 163 yards, 2TD) multiplies the gains in the air, confiscates the ball and punctuates his evening with a new touchdown thrown for Malik Heath (10-38).

The Packers win easily and continue to keep pace with the Lions and Vikings for the division title.
