The Odell Beckham saga is finally over. Destination: Baltimore.
NFL Media announces that the receiver has signed for a season with the Ravens. The contract will earn him at least $15 million, in the form of a signing bonus ($13.835 million) and a base salary of $1.165 million. Then, cumulative bonuses of $3 million can be added.
At most, if everything goes perfectly, Beckham will therefore be able to accumulate 18 million dollars. After a white season spent healing a torn anterior cruciate ligament, it’s pretty well negotiated. Especially for a receiver who will be 31 in November.
In his final season, in 2021, OBJ played for the Browns and Rams. In total, he had 44 receptions for 537 yards and 5 touchdowns in 14 games. He had especially shone during the playoffs with Los Angeles, when he caught 21 balls for 288 yards and 2 touchdowns in just three and a half games, since he injured his knee during the Super Bowl.
Beckham hasn’t topped 1,000 yards in a season since 2019.
It remains to be seen whether it is indeed Lamar Jackson who will throw the ball to this newcomer. The quarterback was tagged, but he mostly asked to be transferred. For the moment, nothing seems to move. With Beckham, Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay and Mark Andrews, he would finally have a very interesting group of targets.
